Dengue cases on the rise amidst COVID cases. IKARI featured in Channel News Asia, Channel 5 & 8 talking about the rise of Mosquito elimination demand.

On June 3, The National Environment Agency conducted about 305,000 inspections island-wide and uncovered about 9,000 mosquito breeding spots and has issued 59 stop-work orders to construction sites for repeated mosquito breeding offences this year. IKARI was also recently interviewed about the rise of mosquito pest control issues from customers due to the weather and rise of breeding habitats.

Dengue Fever Cases an All-Time High!

As if Covid-19 wasn’t enough to worry about, 2020 has also brought dengue cases in Singapore to an all-time high. As of 8 Aug 2020, NEA reported a troubling total of 23,000+ dengue cases, more than the 15,998 dengue cases recorded for the whole of 2019! It seems that the pandemic may have overshadowed the countless reminders of and precautionary efforts by NEA officers. There are still many cases of breeding sources in homes. One particularly terrifying find during an NEA inspection was a flower pot filled with hundred of wriggling larvae!
