Have you come across reports of a bedbug outbreak in Paris? Or the viral TikTok videos of these insects on the public metro train seats in Paris?

Given that Paris recently hosted events like Fashion Week and the Rugby World Cup, it is natural to be concerned that bedbugs could spread worldwide, with travellers inadvertently transporting these unwanted pests back to their homes in their attire and luggage.

The best way to protect yourself is to equip yourself with knowledge and be vigilant when you travel. IKARI was interviewed by Channel News Asia on areas that travellers from Singapore can look out for when travelling. In addition to the infographic above on how to spot bedbugs and prevent them from spreading, please follow this link to read the article in detail: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/cna-explains-bedbugs-check-travel-risk-bringing-home-3834806

If you find bedbugs in your home, office, hotel or store. Please do not fret, IKARI offers effective treatment tailored to your needs:

Methods of Treatment

The methods of bed bug treatment includes:

1. Pesticide Treatments

If the infestation is severe, chemical treatment may be needed to eradicate the bed bugs and to stop the spread of infestation.

Method of Application: Areas of infestation are sprayed, including the surrounding areas, to ensure that all the bed bugs are eliminated.

Note: Extra caution is taken never to bed bug spray near or on food preparation areas.

2. Non-toxic Treatment – Superheated Dry Steam Eradicator

In homes with children, no harmful chemicals are used. This equipment emits dry steam at 180 degrees, killing the bed bugs without the use of chemicals. At that temperature, both adults and eggs are killed and is suitable for use on your bed and sofas. Water is used to generate the steam which completely dries in less than 30 seconds, leaving no dampness after the application, which is very crucial in ensuring that the environment is not conducive to the growth of bacteria and fungi, or other pests.
