The house lizard is not a typically aggressive creature and does not directly spread diseases. When you think of what lizards eat, they actually help reduce the population of flying pests such as flies, mosquitoes and moths in your homes.

However, lizards do leave droppings that stain the surfaces of walls, floors, furniture and fabrics. They are attracted to light and need water to survive. This is why you usually find lizards and their droppings near ceiling lights, or around and underneath kitchen sinks. They also make sounds (known as chirping) that can be unnerving, especially when they occur in the middle of the night. So although the house lizard is not considered a vector (insect that transmits disease or parasite), it is not hard to see why many people consider them as pests nonetheless.

Lizards chirp for two main reasons: to mark their territory and chase a rival away, or to attract a female. Either way, this means hearing lizard sounds indicates that there are more than 1 lizard on your premises. This is the time you want to pay more attention because rare as it may be, you don’t want to find lizard eggs or a lizard infestation!

IKARI Treatment

Although you can easily get a lizard repellent, it is not a sustainable solution to be rid of lizards for good. Lizards take about a year to mature and mate, and can live for years, which means they can easily remain hidden for the same.

IKARI has a team of expertise to suss out the cracks and crevices in which lizards are hiding. Using a range of eco-friendly methods, our team carries out traps to attract and capture the lizards.

All these are done with professional caution to prevent triggering the lizards’ survival instincts to go into hiding, or worse, move elsewhere within the premises.
